Bridge bearings

Bridge bearings

Due to the varying horizontal and vertical loads to which they are subjected, bridges must be supported by both sliding and swivelling bearings.

Applications

Various types of bridge bearings have been developed to meet the requirements resulting from loads, deformation and rotations.

In our factory in Mainhardt, we design and manufacture all our bearing variants based on the latest engineering principles. The continuous further development of bearing technology, coupled with the supply of products for new construction and renovation projects worldwide, has made us one of the leading companies in the field of bearing technology.

Elastomeric bearings as per DIN EN 1337-3

Movements such as displacements and rotations can take place in all directions due to the deformation of the elastomer. A steel-reinforced elastomer is used to prevent large deformations in the vertical direction. The reinforcement prevents the lateral extension of the elastomer, thus giving the bearing greater vertical rigidity and increasing the load that can be applied. These bearings are suitable for structures that are subject to small to medium loads. Special elastomeric bearings are used to insulate against vibrations and structure-borne sound in engineering structures. Our elastomeric bearings are certified in accordance with EN 1337-3. However, we also supply products that comply with international standards such as AASHTO and British Standard.

Pot bearings as per DIN EN 1337-5

Pot bearings are used as another way of compensating for differential movements in various types of structures, and in particular in the bridge engineering sector. They are designed in such a way that they permit vibrations, movements and rotations caused by earthquakes, traffic loads or climatic influences, while simultaneously protecting the structure against damage. Schreiber Brücken-Dehntechnik can supply various bearing types depending on the requirements. Our pot bearings are certified in accordance with EN 1337. However, we also supply products that comply with international standards such as AASHTO or British Standard.

Spherical bearings as per DIN EN 1337-7

Our spherical bearings are suitable for structures that are subject to medium to high loads. Because they have only a small installation height, they are used, in particular, in structures with a small surface area. Spherical bearings absorb large rotations in all directions. The spherical bearings manufactured by Schreiber-Brücken-Dehntechnik are certified in accordance with EN 1337. However, we also supply products that comply with international standards such as AASHTO, British Standard and DIN 4141.

Roller bearings as per DIN EN 1337-4

Our roller bearings are used, for example, for the repair of structures of historic importance. The linear rocker bearings with uniaxial displacement permit rotations around only one axis. Tilting movements around the midpoint of the radial strip are possible. Other applications in which tailor-made solutions with very special functions and designs are required are also possible on request. Special bearings from Schreiber Brücken-Dehntechnik have EN 1337 certification. However, we also supply products that comply with international standards such as AASHTO and British Standard.
